Glycerin:
Glycerin is a sugar alcohol obtained from natural sources that helps the skin retain water to improve hydration, which is essential for healthy looking skin.
Panthenol:
Panthenol is a derivative of vitamin B which improves skin hydration, reduces water loss, and retains skin softness and elasticity.
Dimethicone:
Dimethicone acts as a lubricant on the skin surface, which gives the skin a soft and smooth appearance. It helps provide an even application and leaves a non-sticky, silky feel after application.
Mineral Oil:
Mineral Oil is a skin conditioning agent that slows the loss of water from the skin's surface and increases the skin’s hydration (water content).
Isopropyl Palmitate:
Isopropyl Palmitate acts as a lubricant on the skin’s surface, delivering a soft and smooth appearance
Isopropyl Myristate:
Isopropyl Myristate functions as a skin conditioning agent, which provides lubrication on the skin surface to give a soft and smooth appearance.
Caprylic/Capric Triglycerides:
Tryglicerides are naturally found in the skin, and have been shown to increase skin moisturization.
Glyceryl Oleate:
Glyceryl Oleate is a skin conditioning agent.
Squalane:
Squalane is a natural oil: a mixture of lipids produced by glands in the skin. In the NEOSPORIN® ESSENTIALS™ line, Squalane functions as a moisturizer.
Shea Butter:
Shea Butter is derived from the Shea Tree fruit native to Central Africa, where it is used as a source of vegetable oil. Shea butter is used in the NEOSPORIN® ESSENTIALS™ line for its moisturization benefits.
PEG-150 Distearate:
Polyethylene Glycol (PEG) Distearates are produced from stearic acid, a naturally occurring fatty acid. They help to keep a cream or lotion formulation stable.
Ceramide NP:
Ceramides are essential lipids naturally found within the skin, which play a key role in enhancing and restoring the skin’s protective function.
Ceteareth-6/Stearyl alcohol:
Ceteareth-6 and Stearyl alcohol are waxy alcohols added to help form and thicken a cream.
Cetyl alcohol:
Cetyl alcohol is an emulsifying wax made by combining fatty alcohols derived from vegetable sources added to help thicken a cream.
Humectants:
Humectants are ingredients intended to increase water content in the top layers of the skin.
Emollient:
Emollients remain on the skin surface and act as lubricants. They also improve ease of application and appearance of the cream or lotion.
Lipid:
Lipids comprise a wide range of ingredients found in nature. When Lipids are used as cosmetic ingredients, they slow the evaporation of water from the skin surface. This results in increased water content for healthier looking skin.
